BUNDALEER BLOG

January's bushfire came close, but did not affect any of the areas in the Bundaleer Forest that will be alive with music of the world during the Bundaleer Festival March 22-24.

We love the Bundaleer Festival. My family and I have attended every one since they began in 1999, and we wouldn't miss it. We love that we can camp in the Bundaleer Forest, right where the action is, yet still feel like we are having a secluded holiday in the country.

We can take our kids to all the concerts and performances and they can experience music they would never hear otherwise, all in a glorious bush setting, where you don't have to keep them quiet!

We love that their grandparents come...

As the calendar ticks closer to Christmas, our thoughts naturally turn to a cold Bundaleer Sparkling Shiraz. It's the season for the fizzy red stuff and we think ours is the best, and reasonably priced also. We know many of you agree because this is our busiest time of year for sales of our award-winning Sparkling Shiraz. But we have other wines we also think are perfect for spring and summer...

Did you hear about our Bundaleer North Star Rose? It's been included in the Adelaide Review "Hot 100" and also scored 3 stars in the latest Winestate reviews. Here's the link to the whole Hot 100:

This week at the 2012 Australian Hotel Association/SA Awards for Excellence the wonderful Sevenhill Hotel won “Best Country Bistro/ Casual Dining.” We couldn't agree more!

The Sevenhill Hotel has been the meeting place of this picturesque Clare Valley town since its establishment in 1863. Our winemaker Ang Meaney works her magic on our grapes at Stone Bridge Winery (our barrels are pictured below) just north of Sevenhill, so we visit this little town often, and these days we love it more every time we go there.

First, there's The Little Red Grape. Owner Dorham Pfeiffer has taken historic stone buildings and renovated them into a beautiful, modern cellar door with tastings 7 days a week of small wine labels such as us, Stringy Brae, Good Catholic Girl and Naked Run. But The Little Red Grape is so much more – a gourmet bakery with everything from pasties to artisan sourdough, and a gorgeous homewares...

We've spent the last week with our desks covered in envelopes, mailing labels and newsletters, but the Bundaleer Wines winter newsletter is now out.

Our very clever friend Mary-Jane Hendry of Design on Cedar has done a great job putting it together for us. The beautiful cover shot of our North Star Rose is by Suzanne Kent Photography; we have a lot of talented friends. Ian from Web Visions who created our website is another one!

Join our "Pinecone Club" here on our website to receive a hard copy and our special order form too.

P.S. Tasting at the Belair is Saturday June 30th, not Sunday, my mistake!

The Tin Cat Cafe and Gallery at Kent Town is one of our favourite places.

Our wonderful friend Claire Graham is the brains and beauty behind the operation; gallery, cafe, gourmet dining, events - she can do it all.

Last autumn we held our Winemaker's Dinner there and lots of lovely people came along for a typically tin cat night of beautiful food, wine and fun.

We are also proud that through donating the wine to the dinner we raised $500 for the Hutt St Centre.

Some of the pictures appeared in SA Life, but we haven't shown the others before, so here they are! (Thanks to Suzanne Kent Photography for the gorgeous shots.)
